Field Trip 2: CANFOR Pulp Mill Tour

Canfor Intercon Pulp Mill
Pulpmill Road
Meet at the normal lab time to proceed together to the Intercon Pulp Mill

Objectives:

To understand the pulp making process in an industrial pulp mill setting. To assess parts of the process which may require engineering control of airborne pollutants for occupational safety and public health.

To learn of the technology being used to control emission of airborne pollutants at various stages in the process at the PG kraft pulp mills. To appreciate some of the operational, engineering, economic and environmental contraints in application of control technology to large scale industrial processes. Report:

Document the field trip to Intercon Pulp by writing a report, to be handed in at the start of next week's lab. Your report should:
